چکیده

This document is a research report on the Common Object Broker Architecture (CORBA) and the Object Management Architecture (OMA). It aims to provide a description of the component technology, a description of some of its features, and information about how it is used and who is using it. The document first sets the scene of explaining why CORBA was developed and who it was developed by. It then attempts to explain the high-level architecture that surrounds CORBA, and then goes into some detail about CORBA itself. An analysis of some specific points about CORBA is documented, with details about its platform independence, security features, and application areas revealed. Finally, the document gives some brief information on what development tools can be used to create CORBA applications and what components are available on the market.

A Primer of CORBA: A Framework for Distributed Applications in Defence

Based on object technology, the OMG defines an Object Management Architecture (OMA) for the support of interoperable applications across heterogeneous computing platforms. The communication core of this underlying model is the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) that provides a framework for flexible and transparent communication between distributed objects. The adoption of this a...

Fundamentals of Distributed Object Systems: The CORBA Perspective

This chapter provides an inside view of CORBA with details of its different elements such as the CORBA reference object model and the Object Management Architecture (OMA). It also goes into details on some of the major elements of the CORBA architecture: Object Request Broker (ORB), Interface Definition Language (IDL), Interface and Implementation Repositories, and object adaptors. We show how ...

Differential actions of vasopeptidase inhibition versus angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibition on diuretic therapy in experimental congestive heart failure.

BACKGROUND Omapatrilat (OMA), a vasopeptidase inhibitor, simultaneously inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and neutral endopeptidase, which degrades vasodilatory factors (eg, ADM) and natriuretic peptides. Based on the beneficial cardiorenal and humoral properties of the natriuretic peptides, we hypothesized that an acute vasopeptidase inhibitor with or without diuretic would result i...

A Preview of CORBA 3

Management Group has been the most influential standard in the OO world and one of the principal steps in the indus-try's move to component-based development. Jon Siegel, Director of Domain Technology at the OMG and best-selling CORBA book author, gives us a preview of CORBA 3, the next step in the technology. —Bertrand Meyer C ORBA 3, the first major addition to CORBA from the OMG since the In...

Real-time and Embedded Distributed Object Computing Workshop

The OMG Real-time CORBA specification extends CORBA for use in real-time systems. Real-time CORBA provides a clean infrastructure for building distributed applications with time constraints. In addition, the Minimum CORBA specification offers a feature-optimized version of the CORBA specification that allows application designers to depend on the reduced feature sets of lightweight ORB implemen...
